Interviewer: What are some of the other really serious traffic offenses that you’ve handled? What are they called and what’s involved?

Freddy: Reckless driving. Reckless driving is a six-point ticket, and a $445.00 fine. It’s going to add thousands of dollars to your insurance every year and you’re going to get six points to your license, you’re just that close to losing it. Another one is an extreme reckless driving case. That would be where you were 20 or 30 miles over the speed limit.

An extreme reckless driving charge will entail much more cost in terms of fines and fees and you’re going to end up with the consequence that you’re going to have to cover at the DMV. Another charge that you may have could be classified as DMV with death results or reckless driving with death results. What that means is that you’re reckless driving at a high rate of speed, hit somebody, kill that person and the person died as a result of the accident.

That’s going to land you in jail for 15 to 30 years. That’s one of the more serious cases that we’ve had. We have handled DUI with death results, where someone’s had a DUI, and they hit and killed a person with their car. Now they’re facing 15, 25, 30 years in jail. .

We handle those cases. It can get pretty serious, especially when you have an accident and there are injuries.
